EXPERIENCE

• I began working with children and families as a childcare provider in two local home daycare centers.

• I learned an extraordinary amount as a learning therapist treating a little boy with autism.

• As a nanny for over six years and most recently as a post partum doula I've provided care and support for:

families with first-time parents and families with older siblings; parents with multiples and single-child families; families who had wonderful births and families who felt traumatized by their births;  families brought together by adoption; single-parent families and families with close-knit extended families; families coping with grief and loss; blended families; two-mom and two-dad families; breastfeeding families and bottle-feeding families; families with one stay/work-at-home parent, and families with two go-to-work parents; teen parents and older parents; families who keep kosher; parents who hand-wash their children's cloth diapers, and kids who wear disposables; co-sleeping and sleep-training families; parents whose adjustment to parenthood appeared seamless, and parents who struggled with post-partum depression.

It seems no matter what the spectrum, I've cared for families at either end and everywhere in between, with one exception:

I've never provided care for a family who did not inspire, inform and ultimately transform me.
